Perkin Warbeck Angela Merkel

1499; The Pretender to the throne, Flemish impostor Perkin Warbeck, was hanged for reportedly attempting to escape from the Tower of London.
He had invaded England in 1497, claiming to be Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York, the younger son of King Edward IV.
Perky only spat out the confession to be an impostor under the duress of torture.
Part of the war of want between the Yorkies (the north) and the Tudors down south...
I want this; I want that; I want everthing the plebs have between lands end and john 'o' groats GOSH

Torture today; is banned by the geneva convention and the ban on torture supposed to be strictly observed by the signatories of the later UN convention.
Remember rendition - the abduction of citizens and flying them to complicit (paid) nation states to torture.
Us and the US of A were never ever judged to be guilty of the practice.
At time of war; the truth is the first thing out the window.
The northern power house is the explicit example of the denied economic split bwteen the north and south of england - don't mention the SNP
How grim can Grimbsy get GOSH

1993; English artist Rachel Whiteread won both the £20,000 Turner Prize award for best British modern artist and the £40,000 K Foundation art award for the worst artist of the year.
She was the first woman to win Turner prize. and 2001 she became the third artist to provide a sculpture for the empty fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, an inverted 11 ton resin cast of the plinth itself.
The arts eh!
One - if not the - of the best pieces of 'art' I ever saw...
A piece of hard board in a glass case of emulsion - on pressing a button, it dipped itself into the paint and came back out.
One could actually watch paint dry...
One mans art; is another mans far end of flatulence, he grumbled with a ghastly grimace GOSH

2016; Thomas Mair was found guilty of the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox .
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life (no parole) order.

In this time of 'democracy' death and destruction is never far away.
Keep out of sight! - what shade of grey/gray GOSH

GREECE
Will the German political dilemma/deadlock affect the Greek loans... My Euros say it will. The debt to Germany will become more of a political decision - the present state of international politics will cost the money men(sch) more to lobby.
Rumour has it that Spain wants Gibralter resolved before trade talks can begin.

Henry V111 Darwin

1542; The English army defeated the Scots at the Battle of Solway Moss.
It started as a family dispute when Henry VIII of England broke from the Roman Catholic Church.
asked He - yes the one that split over the catholic church cos of divorce - asked James V of Scotland, his nephew, to do the same, but James ignored his uncle's request.
Less of a rorkes drift and more of a dorkes rift.
A reformation Harvey Weinstein with less conquests and more gold GOSH

1859; Charles Darwin published his controversial and groundbreaking scientific work 'The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection'.
'Flat Earth' societies still exist today - most of em are associated with some form of religion.
Many religious 'people' in the states, do not believe in evolution - they believe totally in god GOSH

Evolution is out; devolution is in.
Many of those who believe in sovereignty from The EU; don't believe in devolution.
Is not the hypocrisy of politics in this culture of greed great GOSH

1951; Austin and Morris Motors agreed to merge.
In those days nation states had mixed economies - in the 60's there was a backing britain campaign.
In the market economy of today; when one hears the greedy git gang go on about the success of the British car industry...
One really has to giggle GOSH

1993; The last 14 bottles of Scotch whisky salvaged from the SS Politician, wrecked in 1941 and the inspiration of the book and film, Whisky Galore, were sold at auction for £11,462.

Winds gusted up to 120 mph, and 9,000 people died.
He created one mother of a planet; that nice bloke called GOD GOSH

The highest wind speed ever recorded was on cairn Gorm in Scotland, 1968 - 173mph.
A storm wind speed starts at 55mph - 10 out of 12 on the beaufort scale.
Just as Rome wasn't built in a day - storms last longer than a day.
Glasgow suffered the worst; the council officialy started building better housing - don't mention the Gorbals GOSH

Nowadays it's flooding and coastal erosion - don't mention the infrastructure (drains) lack of maintenance
The Green house gases destroying the planet theory/practice have believers and non believers.
The boffins say study the climate not the weather.
Climate change is like liver damage; at a certain point it becomes irreversible.
Let us drink, not pray; to forget the gas GOSH

1953; Hungary, led by their talented footballer Ferenc Pushkas, beat England 6-3 at Wembley.
They became the first foreign team to achieve an away win at Wembley.

Gas, gaiters, gore and guns GOSH

He was a talented and charismatic player and became one of the first celebrity footballers.
Best's subsequent extravagant lifestyle led to various problems, most notably alcoholism, which he suffered from for the rest of his adult life.
A common description of his place in football history is summed up by the quote 'Maradona good; Pelé better; George Best.' Georgie boy came from NI.
There are some that say, ' the best thing to come out of Scotland is the A1'
Gas gaiters and guns GOSH

GREECE
Greece has a much smaller carbon footprint than the UK The south west of the UK has a much larger footprint then the NE and Scotland.
Them southern softies are subtly finishing off us Jocks and Geordies...
The UK produces more greenhouse gasses than the rest of the EU.
After brexit what will be the first to kill us; guns or gasses

On This Day 26th of NOV

Newark Castle Newcastle

1645; English Civil War - The third siege of Newark, which lasted from 26th November 1645 to 8th May 1646.
Newark was important to both sides, as two important roads ran through the town - the Great North Way and Fosse Way - not to be confused with the Fosseway (fossie) in North Tyneside.
Newark castle was deliberately destroyed as a fortress in 1648.
There it was nearly gone GOSH

The Normans built the Newcastle Castle to keep out the jocks.
The keep was in military use when the jocks beat Charlie one and he had to pay a fortune to stop - the N. Irish gentry paid more taxes for religious concessions - more gore.
Folklore has it that early on in time, the lowest of the plebs were cast asunder from within the city walls...
And; thats how Sundeland was established.
Let my people GO GOSH

Tyneside is now known nationally, for the Great North Run - alone.
The North East is now a backwater - though some members of all income classes refuse to admit the fact.
Ther's lies, damn lies. and statistics - don't mention the truth.
There's gullible plebs and there's the gullible GOSH

The greedy git gang have just given the geordies X million pound sterling to refurbish the metro rolling stock.
The North East rapid transit system has just went back into public control - the council...
It used to be privately owned by Arriva - a private subsiduary of the german state railway group.
They should have renewed the metro rolling stock years ago.
The money - over how many years - is part of a Newcastle/northumberland devolution deal.
The mind boggles - where's me greed goggles GOSH

1992; It was announced that as from 1993 the Queen would make arrangements to pay income tax.
The first British monarch to do so since the 1930s.
Since then; the fortunes of the lady in the posh hat gang have become even more tax havenly greater GOSH

2014; The Save the Children charity was criticised for giving former Prime Minister Tony Blair an award for his anti-poverty work in Africa.
Critics said that his role in the Iraq war should disqualify him from receiving the honour - don't mention the Middle East Peace Envoy job NO Josh GOSH

Remember when we sent David Owen - who - to the Balkans as peace envoy...
After twenty year of the still ongong Irish 'troubles'...
If only GOD had give the gift, to see ourselves as others see us.
Laugh! I nearly giggled GOSH

GREECE
The EU will have to send a peace envoy to Greece!...

Andrew Meikle First Israel President

1582; William Shakespeare, aged 18, married Anne Hathaway.
They had a daughter in 1583 and a twin boy and girl in 1585. The boy died aged 11.
Sex has fashions of age and other things throughout time...
Some men can; some men won't...
Some girls will; some girls won't... some girl GOSH

1811; The death of Andrew Meikle, a mechanical engineer credited with inventing the threshing machine to remove the outer husks from grains of wheat.
Invention is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.
Much is made of,'the robots are coming...'
Technology is supposed to be on the side of 'man and woman kind'.
It isn't masses of robots us plebs should be wary of...
It's the people and patter of those that make them.
Life will become very grim indeed; if one gives way to the greedy NO GOSH

1874; The birth of Chaim (Azriel) Weizmann, first president of Israel.
He was a chemistry professor in Geneva where he became active in the World Zionist Movement.
After settling in Britain in 1904 he assisted the British munitions industry during the First World War.
He devised a way of extracting acetone (needed for cordite) from maize.
In return, the British government promised to help his cause and establish a Jewish state in Palestine.
The establishment of this punching above it's own weight nation state has caused some cussing over time.
Democracy backed up with death and destruction - give that man a gun GOSH

2014; The American wife of London financier Sir Chris Hohn was awarded £337m by a High Court judge.
A divorce case.
The sum was 'thought' - just; thought - to be the biggest of its kind made by a judge in England.
The couple separated following 17 years of marriage.
Divorce breeds its own sickness - more so in a free market.
Feminism is only a small part of the game NO GOSH

GREECE
Divorce in Greece is much lower than the UK.
The UK has the worst divorce rate in the EU - America has a higher rate of divorce.
The statisticians probably argue over the figures.
The general rule; the more developed the higher the divorce rate...

The Times The Web

In 1814; how many plebs could read!

'Would you let your servant read this...'
A sign of misreading the times, he gulped GOSH

The easy target by the establishment again...
Easy come; easy go GOSH

1999; Eleven people were injured when a nude swordsman attacked churchgoers at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church in London.
A rank amateur compared to those shooters across the pond - all home grown americans.
Giz a gun GOSH

2011; British company Captive Media announced details of its urinal mounted, urine-controlled games console for men.
It called it the first 'hands-free' video gaming console of its kind, with games on offer including a skiing challenge, and a multiple choice pub quiz.
A noted side effect was that the toilets became markedly cleaner, as a new premium was set on accuracy.
A long gone pub in the toon of Newcastle, had a put your pint on here shelf abone the urinals.
A prime example of the 'pursuit of profit' taking the pyth.
When you gotta go...GOSH

2013; A Newport man ( a one James Howells) searched a landfill site in South Wales hoping to find a computer hard drive he threw away.
Worth over £4m- The drive contained 7,500 bitcoins, a virtual form of currency for use online.
The drive was not found.
In 2017; our bank of England signed a deal with the largest US of A private equity company to start up a bitcoin outfit.
Never ever forget it is humans that control technology...

ST Andrew St. Matthew

St Andrew’s Day. He is the patron saint of Scotland, also of golfers and fishermen.
More Jock natural habitat is to be converted to golf course - another novelty in the pursuit of profit If Don - you can't make that hairstyle up - Trump gets his greedy way...
The fishing fraternity are reeling in the wooly jumpers in a feeding frenzy of brexit expectation.
Will St Andy sort it! or! leave it to the lads and ever increasing no. of girls GOSH

1872 The first football match between England and Scotland took place, at Hamelton Crescent Glasgow.
It ended in a 0-0 draw.
Nationalism is the last refuge of the scoundrel, said Samuel Johnson - a global free market man
Patrotism has pro's and con's -no pun intended.
The English/Scottish patriotism seem to be on different divergent political paths at the moment.
Do mention the Euro/scotcoin and the Guinea GOSH

In the world of the free market; did the Uk taxman come cash in hand to the premier league by deferring tax bills for clubs in the money mire!
You bet your ballet shoe weighted footie boots he did.
Everybody should have a goal GOSH

1983; Seaweed contaminated by heavy radioactivity was discovered in Cumbria, near the Sellafield nuclear plant.
Do nuclear power plants have more leaks than a coalition cabinet.

What crossed the line first?
Nuklear weapons or nuclear power plants!
They both crossed together.NO GOSH

England is going down the wealth table league - no pun intended. The most successful modern day economic nation state has not gone down the nuclear road.
They have invested in people making things.
Having tried it twice with guns; they are now doing it by manufacturing - dont mention Volkswagon...
Them Germans - don't mention the demise and distancing of royal families - No Josh GOSH

GREECE
Greece is still in a large trading block - despite the politics and money manoeuvering.
Scotland and most of Ireland want to be in the large trading block - despite the ...
The leave vote was 'assisted' by the large sums donated by rich individuals.
In the good old days; plebs had a new years eve toast, 'Here's wishing you, health wealth and happiness'.
In that Order...
Assuming the brexit vote was more wealth than racism - lets hope the plebs have the resolve to attain health and happiness.
